Join our team as an Export & Customs Specialist and ensure the compliant, efficient and timely handling of our national and international import and export processes:
- You will be responsible for operational import and export processing - from import notification and customs clearance to handling complex customs matters. You will prepare and review all required customs and shipping documents as well as import and export invoices
- You will classify goods for customs purposes, determine origin and calculate preferences, prepare proofs of origin, long-term supplier's declarations and Intrastat reports, and ensure that customs and material master data is maintained reliably
- You will ensure compliance with all relevant customs, foreign trade and export control regulations. This includes dual-use and sanctions list screening as well as reviewing and, where necessary, correcting tax assessments. You will have the authority to stop critical exports and coordinate with the person responsible for exports where legal risks arise
- You will organize special customs procedures and serve as the central point of contact for customs authorities, freight forwarders, customers and suppliers. Internally, you will work closely with Logistics, Customer Experience, Purchasing, R&D and Finance
- As the key user for our ERP and export software, you will continuously develop our customs and export processes and drive their digitalization and automation. You will also contribute to or lead cross-functional projects, for example relating to CBAM, EUDR, U.S. tariffs and material declarations
- You will document customs-related processes and share your expertise with the relevant internal departments through training sessions
PROFILE
- You have completed vocational training in a commercial field, for example in foreign trade, freight forwarding or an industrial company, as well as further training in customs, foreign trade or export control
- You have several years of professional experience in import and export processing as well as customs matters
- You have sound knowledge of ATLAS, Intrastat, Incoterms, customs and foreign trade law, preferential origin rules and export controls
- You are proficient in using ERP systems. Ideally, you have already worked with Epicor and Descartes or a comparable foreign trade system
- You have a very good command of written and spoken German and a good command of English
- You are characterized by a structured, meticulous and independent approach to work as well as strong organizational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, together with a confident manner when dealing with internal and external contacts, round off your profile
